Kim Delaney (born Kim Delaney) is an American actor who is best well-known for her character of detective Diane Russell in ABCs NYPD Blue in which she won the Emmy Award. Her other credits include her performances in the drama series All My Children Philly CSI: Miami and Army Wives. She was born as the only child of a high-ranking executive in the United Auto Workers and a housewife, Delaney was raised with four brothers. Although she was a child with a aspiration to become journalist, it wasn't until her high school years that she began modeling. After moving away from New York City and gaining experiences as a commercial model at New York did she achieve an aspiring career as court reporters. As a teenager, her first role as an actress came in the soap opera of 1980 All My Children. Since then Delaney has been in a variety of films television movies and dramas. Her career hasn't been good or satisfying personal life. The skilled actor been battling alcoholism as well as two failed marriages. In 2005, she lost custody of her son.
